Troop 98 will be going to Seven Springs Ski Resort for a 1-day ski trip on January 11th. We need to have at least 20 people attend to get the special group pricing below. -Medical Forms
Part A, B1, & B2 – Due 1/13
The National BSA council has just released a Revised medical form. The form can be found on the Team App UPLOADS page, and the national forms page (https://www.scouting.org/resources/forms/). Always keep the original form and turn in a copy. Do not turn in the original. If you are an adult planning on participating in the campouts or other unit activities, you will ALSO need to have the medical form completed and in the hands of the unit leader prior to the activity.

To go on campouts or unit activities that are less than 72 hours parts A, B1 and B2 are required to be in the possession of the unit leader prior to the event. These parts do not need to be completed by a medical professional.

To go on longer campouts such as Summer Camp, National Jamboree, or a high adventure camp (Seabase, Northern Tier, Summit or Philmont) you must also have part C completed and turned in along with A, B1, and B2. Form C must be completed by a medical professional.

Please contact Mr. Sampson at a Troop Meeting if you have any questions about the new medical form. **Please turn in parts A, B1 and B2 by Monday 1/13. Then part C must be completed before attending Summer Camp in July.**

-Troop Committee Meeting
1/14
The Committee will be having their monthly meeting to discuss Troop business from 6:30 – 7:30pm at Stonybrook. Committee members are highly encouraged to attend, and Parents are welcome to attend and participate. Topics for discussion can be submitted in the comments section of the meeting event page on the Team App.

-Board of Review
1/14
A Scout who has completed the requirements for any rank (except Scout rank) then appears before a board of review. Its purpose is to determine the quality of the Scout’s experience and decide whether the requirements for the rank have been fulfilled. If so, the board not only approves the Scout’s advancement but also provides encouragement to continue the quest for the next rank.

If you are ready for your next rank advancement you should plan to attend the monthly Board of Review. This will be in the basement at Stonybrook at 7:30pm. Please RVSP for this event on Team App so we can plan to have an appropriate number of committee members present.

-Winter Campout
1/17 – 1/19
The Troop will be having a Winter Campout at Camp Lazarus. The Troop will be holding Flag Raising and Flag Lowering at set times on Saturday, and the rest of the time is open for the Patrols to use for Scout activities as they wish. Go for a hike, build a shelter, or cook some great meals, you can do all of this and more at the Winter Campout.

The Troop will be meeting at Stonybrook at 6pm and leaving at 7pm. We will return to Stonybrook around 1pm on Sunday. The Patrols will be responsible for 3 meals on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday. On Friday night please eat before arriving at the church or bring a dinner with you. Please make sure you are paying attention to the weather for the campout so you can BE PREPARED.

-Troop Leaders Council & Teams Meeting
1/20
Troop Leaders Council Meeting (TLC)
**This meeting will be at Massey’s Pizza in Gahanna because the church will be closed that day.**
The Troop Leaders Council (TLC) meeting is a meeting of the Senior Patrol Leader and the Patrol Leaders to review the Troops upcoming plans. All Patrol Leaders, the Senior Patrol Leader, and the Troop Scribe should plan to attend. If a Patrol Leader cannot attend, they should make sure that the Assistant Patrol Leader attends the meeting. Each Special Team should also provide an update on their current progress for the TLC to review.

During the meeting the Scouts will review the meeting and campout plans for the upcoming months and fill in the details for each meeting with input from the Patrol Leaders. All Scouts should make sure they give their Patrol Leader feedback to share at the TLC meeting. If there is an activity that you want to see, make sure you tell your Patrol Leader so we can try and add it to the calendar.

The Teams are also encouraged to attend the meeting to work on their current projects and report on their progress to the TLC.
