Breaking News
-Garage Cleanout
2/1
The Troop will meet at the church to help clean up the garage and get ready for the 2020 camping season. All Scouts are welcome, and Patrol Quartermasters are highly encouraged to attend. This will also be a great opportunity to practice using the camping gear. Please dress for the weather and bring a water bottle and $2 for food.

-Summer Camp Early Bird Payment 1
2/10
The 2/10 Troop meeting is the deadline for the first early bird payment of $50. By completing both Early Bird Payments Scouts can qualify for a $10 discount and a commemorative hat for Summer Camp. The second payment of $100 must also be made by the 3/23 Troop meeting for the discount to be applied to your final Summer Camp fee. Checks should be made out to Troop 98 BSA. Online payments are also available by going to the Trading Post on Team App. An online processing fee is included on all online payments.

Reminders

-Medical Forms
Part A, B1, & B2
The National BSA council has just released a Revised medical form. The form can be found on the Team App UPLOADS page, and the national forms page (https://www.scouting.org/resources/forms/). Always keep the original form and turn in a copy. Do not turn in the original. If you are an adult planning on participating in the campouts or other unit activities, you will ALSO need to have the medical form completed and in the hands of the unit leader prior to the activity.

-Pack 98 Pinewood Derby
1/24 & 1/25
The Pack is looking for Scouts from the Troop interested in helping during setup, racing, and tear down for the Pack 98 Pinewood Derby. Scouts can help for the whole day or just for a few hours. Scouts who go to help with the event should wear their Full Class A Uniform. If you are interested in helping at the event, please email leaders@troop98gahanna.info or leave a comment on this page.

January 24 (5-9 pm) Setup, test run and impound
January 25 (8-4 pm) Derby Day and tear down

The race will be in the Gahanna Lincoln High School Cafeteria.
Event is free to attend.
Lunch option available for additional charge on the 25th

-Men’s Spaghetti Dinner Volunteer Opportunity
1/25
The United Methodist Men are hosting their annual spaghetti dinner on January 25th.
They are looking for people to help before and after the dinner.
You can come and help setup for dinner anytime from between 10 am-5 pm.
They will also need help with cleanup from 7:30-9:30 pm.

Remember the church does a lot for the Troop and this is one way we can give back to the church and the community. You can also bring your family to come eat dinner from 5-7:30. Adults at $8, children 6-10 are $5 and children under 6 eat free. And it is all you can eat!!!! Remember to bring your Scout handbook so an adult leader can sign off for your service hours.

-Logan’s Woodcutting for Eagle Project
1/26
On January 26th we are going to start the woodcutting for my Eagle Scout project. For my project we are building new benches for Jefferson Township Park. The woodcutting is for older scouts 15+ years of age. We will be cutting the wood at 3120 East 17th Avenue (Quality Pools) from 10am to 2pm. Lunch will be provided for those that are there.
